Kinmineyama-ji Temple

Kinmineyama-ji Temple| Grand Mercure Nara Kashihara [Official]

It is a symbol of Yoshinoyama and the head temple of the Honshu of Kinmineyama Shugen. About 1,300 years ago, it was opened by the founders and actors of Shugendo.
Yoshinoyama's cherry blossoms became sacred trees because they carved Zao Gongen into a cherry tree, which the actor felt, and worshipers planted cherry seedlings one after another in the mountains with prayer and protected them.
The main hall, Zao-do, is home to three statues of Kongo Zao Gongen, the largest secret Buddha in Japan. Every year, it is specially opened for a limited time, for the National Treasure Niomon Grand Repair Promotion.
