Experience a heartfelt sutra experience at the first sutra place in Japan
Kawahara-dera Temple Ruins Kofukuji Temple is a temple located in Asuka Village, Nara Prefecture, where many historical mysteries remain. In the Asuka era, it was counted as four Asuka temples along with Asuka-dera Temple, Yakushi-ji Temple, and Daikandaiji Temple, and it was a large temple that Emperor Tenmu gathered calligraphy and performed the first sutra. It was abandoned during the Muromachi period, but Kofukuji is located on the site of the temple that inherits the lantern.
In this experience, you will visit the main hall under the guidance of the priest, and then move to the sutra place to perform the sutra. Please enjoy the sutra experience where you can feel the history of Kawaharaji Temple and the wind of Asuka while watching the historic sites of the Asuka era.

Kofuku-ji Temple Ruins of Kawahara-ji Temple
After arriving at Kofuku-ji Temple, you will visit the main hall under the guidance of the priest to cleanse your mind and body.

Shakyo experience
